Othella Stephens Chandler, 94, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 in Amarillo, TX. Services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Dalhart Church of Christ with Clay Lobley, Dalhart Church of Christ officiating, burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery Horizon Funeral Home is directing the Service. Othella Stephens, was born October 29, 1925 in Girard, TX to Aggie A. and Lola (Fuston) Stephens. Othella graduated for Abernathy High School in 1942 and married Eldon "Slim" Chandler on March 31, 1945 in Lubbock, TX They moved to Dalhart in 1955. Othella retired as Chief Dispatch for Dalhart Police Department. Othella was an award-winning artist in oil, pastels and watercolors, she was an avid craft person who dabbled in ceramics & porcelain dolls. Othellas paintings have been displayed all over Texas and New Mexico. She is survived by 1 son Victor D. Chandler and his wife Jan of Dalhart, TX Grandchildren: Dan Minter of Dalhart, TX Tammie Galyon of Lubbock, TX Tonnia and Danny Williams of Denver City, TX Son In Law Carl Foote of Tucumcari, NM Grandchildren: Wesley Foote his wife Amanda, Toby Foote and his wife Daniell both of Tucumcari, NM Rebekah Foote Peterson and her husband Gideon of Midland, TX Tracey Foote of Midland, TX - 10 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren Othella is preceded in death by her husband Eldon "Slim" Chandler a daughter Paula Chandler Foote, 6 brothers and 3 sisters and her parents.
