Orval Robinson Stewart, 94, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2010 in Dalhart, TexasServices were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas. Officiants were Rev. Rodney Weatherly, pastor, and Rev. Bob McAlister, minister to Sr. Adults Burial was on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Maple Grove Cemetery Dodge City, KansasOrval was born March 6, 1916, in Feldsberg, Kansas to Jay and Shirley Stewart. He attended school in Hugoton, Kansas. He married Lela Mae Delano in 1935 in Dodge City, Kansas. Lela and their daughter, Janis Lavelle, passed away in 1966.Orval married Catherene Oleta Delano of Dalhart in 1969. They moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where he was employed by Plasti- Line, inc. During his employment with Plasti-Line they also resided in Kalamazoo, Michigan; Denver, Colorado; Dallas, Texas and Wichita, Kansas. In 1999, Orval and Catherene moved to Dalhart. Orval continued to travel all over the United States with his job until he retired at age 87.In Dalhart, Orval was a faithful member of First Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending the mens Sunday School class in the Adult Six Dept.Survivors include his daughter-in-law - Leyola Stewart, of Buena Vista, Colorado - grandsons Roger Stewart and wife Carol of Wichita, Kansas, Kent Stewart and wife Lachae of Lee Summit, Missouri, Jim Stewart and wife Rhea of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kirk Stewart and wife Maggie of Spokane, Washington - granddaughter Julie Stewart Neider and husband B.J. of Atlanta, Georgia.Stepson Jerry Delano and wife Sandra of Dalhart, Texas Stepdaughters - Peggy Dane and husband Clifford of Dalhart, Texas and Linda Delano Morgan of Amarillo, Texas - grandsons Cliff Delano and wife Connie of Dalhart, Texas, Brent Dane and wife Betsy of Livermore, California, Troy Dane and wife Rhonda of Lubbock, Texas, - granddaughters Shannon Delason of Dalhart, Texas, Ronda Botz and husband Brad of Amarillo, Texas, Gwenann Sprecher and husband Jim of Wilmington, N. Carolina A special friend - Eva Davis of Dalhart, Texas. sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.Orval was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers - Howard and George Stewart, his wife Lela Mae Stewart, a daughter Janis Stewart and a son Allen Stewart and his wife Catherene.The family requests that memorials be sent to the Senior Citizens Center of Dalhart or to the charity of choice.
