Oleta Firestone, 101 of Dalhart, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 11 o' clock in the morning on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Ron Hein, Coon Memorial Home and Hospice, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Oleta was born on October 4, 1919 to W.L. "Bill" and Lela Pugh in Iowa Park, TX. She graduated from Baton Rouge, LA before moving to Dalhart to make her new home. Oleta Married William Kenneth Firestone and they shared many happy years together until his passing. Oleta was a loving homemaker who cherished time spent with her family and did all she could to provide for them. She was a great cook, enjoyed crocheting and babysitting and loved to make people smile. She always made time for herself as well by keeping her nails, hair and makeup done on the regular. Oleta was known by many and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband: William Kenneth Firestone; parents: W.L. "Bill" and Lela Pugh; two sons: Larry and Charles Firestone; two sisters: Dorothy King and Myrtle Stille and three brothers: Buford, Bufus and Dalton Pugh. Oleta is survived by one daughter: Beverly Kelly of Dalhart; grandchildren: Kim Crawford and husband Eric of Amarillo, Kellie Watson and wife Jess of Rawlings, WY, Trinitie Watson of Dalhart, Brent Firestone and wife Stacy of Amarillo, Melanie Link and husband Daniel of Los Angeles, Tracy Firestone and Kenny Firestone both of Wichita Falls, TX; great grandchildren: Mia and Stella Crawford, Bailey Watson, Lexi Banks, William and Weston Watson, Emma Firestone; four great great grandchildren and one sister: Cora Nicholauson.
