Norma Joy Barrow, 76, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Amarillo, Texas. Graveside services were held at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas.Officiating was Kurtis Abla, Youth Minister at First Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas.Norma Joy Goodson was born on June 19, 1940 in Swisher County, Texas to Robert Newton & Inez Pearl (Payne) Goodson. Norma married Jackie Ray Barrow on June 28, 1959 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas. Norma and Jackie had two children together a son, Gerry Barrow and a daughter, Beverly (Barrow) Robertson who passed away on December 1, 2003. After 44 years of marriage Normas husband, Jackie passed away the following year on September 13, 2004. Norma started her working career at Dairy Cream and worked for the Dalhart School Cafeteria where she retired after working 23 years. When Kerrie, Gerrys wife moved to Dalhart people would ask her who she belonged to, she would comment Gerry who belongs to Jack & Norma and most of the comments made were Oh the mean old lunch lady! Normas reputation was mean, but the people who really knew her, knew she had a heart of gold. Norma loved her family dearly and would have done anything for them. Norma thought her grandchildren and great-grandchildren hung the moon. Norma is survived by her son, Gerry Barrow and his wife, Kerrie, her granddaughters- Brittany Barrow of Dalhart and Cassiopia Buchleiter and her husband, Brandon of Santa Fe, NM, her son in law, Michael Robertson of Owasso, OK, her great-grand children- Aaren Lloyd & Keilan Ray Barrow of Dalhart and Kara & Alana Buchleitler of Santa Fe, MN. Norma is preceded in death both her parents, her husband, Jackie and her daughter, Beverly (Barrow) Robertson.
