Nita Walker, 93, died Friday, February 26, 2010 in Dalhart, TexasGraveside services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 in the Acton Cemetery, Acton, TXNita Walker was born Oneita Ursula Frashier to Oscar and Dora (McPeak) Frashier on January 19, 1917 in Pampa, Texas. She was reared in Pampa and graduated high school there. She and Odell Walker were married on March 26, 1936. He preceded her in death on May 30, 2005. Nita passed from this life on February 26, 2010. After their marriage they lived in Amarillo before moving to Dalhart in 1943. They owned and operated the Walker Funeral home for 32 years before retiring and moving to Granbury, TX. After Odells death she moved back to Dalhart in 2007 where she lived until her death.She was a homemaker most of her married life. She enjoyed playing golf and traveling during her younger years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Dalhart, TX and of the Acton United Methodist Church in Acton, TX. During her younger years in Dalhart she taught a childrens Sunday School Class at the First Christian Church. During her illnesses over the last few years all her care givers would comment on her sweet spirit and attitude and of what a joy it was to care for her.Nita is survived by two sons: Barry and his wife Stella of Dalhart, TX and Guy and his wife Diane of Fredericktown, MO.
