Newton Foster, 87 - died: Sunday, February 6, 2005 in Dalhart, TexasGraveside services were held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at Memorial Park Cemetery.Jeff Taylor, Pastor of the Central United Methodist Church and Rev. Travis LaDuke, reitred Baptist Minister officiated at the service.Newton was born in Stratford, Texas on October 29, 1917 to Clyde R. and Agnes Augusta (Headrick) Foster. Newton was raised in the Stratford area and graduated form Stratford High School in 1936, he then attended Texas A & M before being drafted in 1941. Newton was a Glider Pilot and flew in many campaigns, in the European Theatre. On November 11, 1941 he married Alva Pauline Hambright. After his discharge they moved to Dalhart, Texas where Newton became a real-estate salesman for W. H. Lathem Land Company until 1960 when he began his own Real-estate Company. Mr. Foster was a member of the Dalhart Board of Realtors, Texas Cattle Feeders Association and past XIT rodeo & reunion director. Newton was one of the largest individual cattle feeders in the Area. Newton is survived by his wife - Pauline Foster of Dalhart, Texas 1 daughter: Terry Heller of Oklahoma. 3 sons: Mike & Greg Foster of Dalhart, TX and Jay Foster of Amarillo, TX - 1 Brother: Art Foster of Lubbock, Texas12 Grandchildren18 Great-GrandchildrenPreceded in death by: his parents, 1 son Howard - 1 great grandson Kirk Armer and 2 brothers: John & Sheldon Foster.
