Nettie Sue Powell, 85, died Friday, March 21, 2014 in Amarillo, TXGraveside services were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery.Nettie Sue Jackson was born October 26, 1928 in Dickens County, TX to Spurgeon and Annie (Williams) Jackson. She grew up around Spur, TX and on June 8, 1946 she married Donald Powell in Spur. They moved to Cactus, TX and then in 1964 to Dalhart, TX, Nettie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dalhart, had worked for the Coca-Cola bottling and Brendas Dress shop. She and Donald moved to Amarillo in 1996. Nettie is preceded in death by a son Kelly Glenn Powell, her parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.She is survived by her husband Donald Powell of Amarillo, TX, 2 sons; Ronny Keith Powell and his wife Suzanne of Lily, KY, Jay Dean Powell and his wife Kimberly of Clarendon, TX and a daughter Debra Sue Johnson and her husband Jay of Frisco, TX. 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
