Nelda Herring, 83, died Saturday, November 17, 2012 in Dalhart, TXA Memorial Service was held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Dalhart Church of Christ ( 1420 Denver Ave, Dalhart, TX 79022) with Jim York and Dean Whaley officiating. Nelda Poe was born August 16, 1929 near Ballinger, TX to William and Flora (Poole) Poe. She was raised in the Ballinger area and on February 21, 1947 she married Roland Hudson Herring in San Angelo, TX. They moved to Dalhart in the 1950s where they farmed for many years. Nelda was an avid Gardner and recipient of numerous yard of the Month awards. She was an Antique furniture restoration specialist. Her family was very important to her.She is survived by her daughter Becky J. and son-in-law Don Parker of Keystone, NE., Granddaughter Lindy Janeice Hyer and her husband Mike of Dalhart, TX, Heather Dawn Zundel and her husband Nick of Amarillo, TX and Erma Denell Noland and her husband Ashley of Amarillo, TX Great Grandchildren Hayz Noland, Cooper Noland, Tallon Noland, Laramie Noland, Zoe Zundel, Zack Zundel, Zane Zundel, Makayla Hyer, Rily Hyer and Sydni Hyer.Preceded in death by her husband Hudson Herring and a son Gregg Herring.
