Narcisa C. Ortiz

Narcisa C. Ortiz, 96, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 in Dalhart, TX. Narcisa was born in Taos, NM to Apolonio Abeyta and Guadalupe Romero on Wednesday, October 17, 1928. A rosary will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. and a memorial mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. with Father Tony officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Dalhart Funeral Home.

Narcisa married George Ortiz in Roy, NM on June 22, 1954. Together they had four children: George, Maria, Tina and Rose. Narcisa loved living and working on the ranch, fixing things and spending time outdoors in her garden or her flower beds. While indoors she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Narcisa loved her family, children and grandchildren more than anything and loved teaching them things. She would take George’s pickup truck and teach the kids how to drive. She taught the grandkids to fish and how to clean their catch. Narcisa was a tough, strong, and determined lady and a big time go getter. If there was a will there was a way and she was going to find it and make things happen. After many wonderful years on the ranch she relocated to Roy, NM.

Narcisa is survived by her children, George Ortiz and wife Judy of Tulsa, OK, Maria Ortiz and Tina Aragon both of Dalhart, TX, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and her sister Mary Ortiz.

She is preceded and reunited with her husband George and daughter Rose, a grandson Travis Ortiz, her parents and five siblings.
