Minnie Lee Bryant, 89, died on Monday, October 27, 2008, in Dalhart, Texas.Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Hartley Christian Fellowship Church in Hartley, TX. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, TX, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX.Minnie Lee Bryant was born February 20, 1919 in Hooker, OK to James and Ruth (Storer) Welch. The family, including a sister, Zella, & two brothers, Howard and Raymond, moved to the Dalhart area around 1928. Minnie Lee graduated from Dalhart High School and extended her education for a few years until meeting J.W. Bryant whom she married on March 21, 1939. Together, for 66 years, they ranched in New Mexico, Missouri & Texas making a warm loving home for their family & friends. Minnie Lee was an active member of the Hartley Christian Fellowship Church, Hartley Study Club and TEEA. She was also a Charter Member of Martha Circle organized by the Central United Methodist Church in Dalhart.Minnie Lee was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Bryant in 2005; one brother, Howard Welch; and her sister, Zella Longwell. Survivors include one brother: Raymond Welch of Aztec, NM; two daughters: Terri Hatfield and husband Jerry of Hartley, Sherri Cornett and husband Bill of Amarillo; three grandchildren: Kim Hofferichter and husband Darin of Friona, Curt Cornett of Amarillo, Bryant Cornett and wife Mary Pillow of Atlanta, GA; three great grandchildren: Peyton and Dylan Hofferichter of Friona, William Spade and Mary Dudley Cornett of Atlanta; one niece: Kenalea Johnson of Alamogordo, NM; one nephew: Jim Longwell of Sharpsville, PA.Visitation with the family will take place prior to the services at 1:00 in the Hartley Community Center.The family suggests memorials to Coon Memorial Home Hospice, 320 Texas Blvd, Dalhart, TX 79022 , The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) located at http://www.apdaparkinson.org/user/index.asp or Hartley Christian Fellowship Church, Box 196, Hartley, TX 79044.
