Miguel "Mike" Rojas, 66 of Dalhart, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00PM on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with Kurtis Abla officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Miguel R. Rojas was born to Marcelino and Eva Rojas on May 20, 1955 in Dalhart and passed to be with the Lord on December 23, 2021. He was a member at Lincoln St. Baptist Church since 1989. He worked with the Dalhart Independent School District from November 20, 1986 June 30, 2014 and the Hartley School District from 2014-2021. He was known for his hard work at the schools and even served as a host at the Intermediate school. Mike found joy in telling jokes, riddles, and "word of the day". He often called friends and family because he never figured out how to text. Mike was known for his infamous "April Fools Cake" made of styrofoam that he took to the school every year. Mike loved his 12 nieces and nephews, and 23 great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Marcelino Rojas, brothers Tony and Pablo Rojas, and sister Frances Fuentes. He is survived by his mother Eva Rojas, brother Domingo Rojas, and sisters Virginia Wheeler and husband Richard, and Melissa Gonzalez.
