Melvin Przilas was born in Schulenburg, Texas in 1936, to a low-income family who were rich in love of God, family, and friends. At ,the age of seven, his family moved to Umbarger TX in 1943. He attended school in Umbarger where he met many lifetime friends and his future bride. After spending time in the army, he came home and made Phyllis Beckman his wife in 1962. Melvins life was spent with a deep faith in God, loving his family, enjoying friends and helping others less fortunatea life he taught to his children who passed this on to their children. Melvin died peacefully at 3:50 a.m. on January 8, 2023 at the age of 86. Melvin is still being loved by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Przilas, two daughters: Colette Stork, husband Charlie Stork; Sandra Wise, husband, Danny Wise; two sons: Douglas Przilas, wife, Anita Przilas; David Przilas, wife, Christy Przilas; ten grandchildren: Crystal Gilmore, Ashley Jesko, Celeste Przilas-Stork, Jonathan and Christopher Phillips, LaCoda and Parker Przilas, Michael Przilas, Whitney Mullins, and Taylor Przilas; nine great-grandchildren; loving brother Oscar Przilas and his wife Kay Przilas, loving sister Bernice Schwartz and her husband Kenneth "Sonny" Schwartz and many wonderfully loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents: Otto and Martha Przilas and sister, Marcella Woehl. A rosary is to be held at St Anthony of Padua Catholic church in Dalhart on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 6 p.m. Funeral service is to be held at St Anthony of Padua Catholic church on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11 a.m. Graveside for family and close friends.
