Melton White, 76, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Dalhart, TexasServices were held at 3:00 pm Monday, June 10, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery Melton White was born September 14, 1936 in Hereford, TX to Hubert and Mary (Smith) White. Raised in Hereford he moved to Dalhart in 1972. Melton owned and operated American Sprayers until he retired in 2001. He was a volunteer fireman for over 35 years and had served as fire chief in Dalhart several times. Melton was a member of the Logan First Baptist Church in Logan, NM. Survivors include his wife Donna of Dalhart, TX sons: Stephen and his wife Tracy White and Randy and his wife Lisa White all of Dalhart, TX daughters Kim and her husband Kees Schillhorn-van-Veen of Dalhart, TX and Lesa and her husband Danny Wells of Colorado Springs, CO. Grandchildren : Blake and his wife Jennifer White, Dustin and his wife Abbie Ellis, Ty and his wife Stephanie Ellis, Devin Ellis, Nicholas and Daniel Wells, Karley, Courtney, Konnor, and Corbin White. Great-grandchildren: Christiana Dixon, Kholten Ellis, Avery White, Ivey, Hayden, Ethyn, Carter, Nile, and Clarey Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews.
