Maxine Shewbert, 93, died Friday, March 21, 2014 in Amarillo, Texas. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.A Life Celebration was held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 24, 2014 at Central United Methodist Church. Officiating was Steve Patterson, Pastor of Central United Methodist Church. - Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home. Doris Maxine Ritchey was born July 10, 1920 in Dalhart, TX to Dillard and Callie (Gaines) Ritchey. She was raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1938. She married Victor "Vic" Shewbert on October 25, 1941, he died in 1998. Maxine was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church, a caring and generous woman who loved her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters: Vicki (Shewbert) Schmidt and husband Dave of Boerne, TX, Penny (Shewbert) Rahlfs of Amarillo, TX and Terry (Shewbert) Boston and her husband Jack of Dalhart, TX. A sister JoAnn Hicks of Amarillo, TX and a brother Jack Ritchey of Plainview, TX. Grandchildren: Dana and Mike Dutson of San Antonio, TX, Robin and Craig Patterson of Canyon, TX, Jason and Melinda Rahlfs of Amarillo, TX, Diana and Andrew Steiner of Seattle, WA, Valarie and Brandon Berkshire of Lansing, MI and Ben and Amanda Boston of Lubbock, TX and 9 great grandchildren.
