Maude E. Winters, age 92 died on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 in Dalhart, Texas Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Central United Methodist Church, Dalhart, TX. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.Officiatiants were Billy Rammage, Minister of the First Baptist Church in Clayton, NM & Jeff Taylor, Minister of the Central United Methodist Church, Dalhart, TexasMaude Evelyn Sowers was born January 30, 1913 in Sedan, New Mexico to Alva Dolf & Ida Pearl (Brooks) Sowers. She was raised and attended school in the Sedan area, graduating from Clayton High School in 1929 in Clayton, New Mexico. After graduation she met Hubert A. Winters. They were married October 10, 1930 in Clayton, New Mexico. They made their home in the Union County area. The couple moved to Dalhart, Texas in 1977.She is survived by daughters Mary Kay Stewart of Amherst, New Hampshire, JoAnn Herreid & her husband Glenn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, & Fran Seaman & her husband Ron of Clayton, New Mexico Seven (7) Grandchildren & Six (6) Great GrandchildrenPreceded in death: her husband Hubert A. Winters in 1988, her parents, one brother; James A. Sowers & her son in law Charles W. Stewart.
