Mass was held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Dalhart, TX. Romero and Nieves Lopez - and Aunt Darlene Rebecca Romero and a loving cousin Zach Romero. Matthew Nicholas Romero was born on December 27th, 1985 in Dumas, Texas raised in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 2005.Matts #1 sport was basketball he enjoyed coaching Little Dribblers, playing football, soccer, fishing and sport video games. Matt enjoyed his friends whether they were dancing, watching movies ( Matt was extremely proud of his collection of the Rocky Movie Series) . He was active in many organizations where he donated his time and at was usually the first in line for the local blood drives.Matt attended College and was hoping to fulfill his lifelong goal of becoming a coach. Gentle, kind and willing to give the shirt off his back to help someone, Matt will be remembered by his family as a young man who loved his moms blueberry pancakes, and seemed to always have a strong craving for chocolate milk and moose tracks ice cream! No wonder some of the family calls him MOOSE - Matt had worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and United Grocery before moving to Amarillo where he was working for Toys R US.
