Mary Elizabeth Wilcoxson, 78, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021 in Dalhart, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery. Russell Ballew will officiate. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Mary was born Thursday, February 4, 1943, to Lillian (Grather) and Leonard Schlageter in Clarksville, Indiana. Mary became a resident of Coon Memorial Nursing Home on November 12, 2018. She loved assisting those that needed help as well as helping the activity department with cutting and preparing things for the next activity. She took pride in feeding the squirrels and the birds and enjoyed collecting extra bread to feed them. In 2019 she moved into Legacy Assisted Living and immediately picked up taking care of other residents and her beloved birds. Mary loved puzzles, going to BINGO, attending church at the Dalhart Seventh Day Adventist with her dear friends Lorene and Russell Ballew, coloring in her books and plastering her walls with her pictures as well as giving them as gifts to express her love and gratitude to others. Mary will be greatly missed by those she loved and that loved her. Mary loved those who were close to her and claimed them as her own. Lorene and Russell Ballew were deeply loved by Mary.
