Mary Ruth Lyon 76, died Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Dalhart, Texas Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rusty Hancock pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements by Horizon Funeral Home. Mary Ruth Larance was born July 7, 1938 in Lueders, TX to Wesley and Mary (Dossey) Larance, she grew up around Lueders and moved to the Panhandle area in the early 80s. Mary cooked for many of the area restaurants and enjoyed spending her Sunday mornings listening to Dr. Charles Stanley and Joyce Meyer. Mary was an accomplished artist whose paintings are appreciated and admired. She received special recognition by President Ronald Reagan when he accepted and displayed a painting she gave him as a gift. Survivors include her sons: Jimmy Reynolds of Harlingen, TX, Billy Reynolds of Hawley, TX, Bobby Reynolds of Belton, TX and Richard Reynolds of Dalhart, TX and a daughter Jeanette Sisco of Dalhart, TX.4 brothers Ray Larance of Amarillo, TX, Roy Larance of Midland, TX, Ricky Larance of Ranger, TX and Glenn Larance of New Castle, TX and sister Sue Lee of Anson, TX. 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Melissa Ritter, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.Family will be at 902 Scott.
