Mary Kirk Langhorne, 99, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 in Farwell, TX.Services were held Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm, at the Central United Methodist Church in Dalhart, TX.Mary Roberta Kirk was born April 15, 1916 in Chicago, IL to Frank and Sylvia (Kristofek) Kirk. Her family moved to Esterville, Iowa where she spent most of her childhood and early teens. In 1932 the family moved to Dalhart, TX. She met Robert A. Langhorne and they were married on February 18, 1934 in Clayton, NM. She graduated the same year from Dalhart High School. They moved to Sweetwater, TX in 1937, then to San Antonio and returned to Dalhart in 1942. Mary enjoyed going to the mountains in Gunnison, CO every summer for many years. She enjoyed canning the local fruits and fish. She also loved to travel and enjoyed two trips to Europe. She loved cats, and from childhood she always had one. Most of all, she enjoyed having her family around; including her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading books and needlepoint. She attended Central United Methodist Church, for many years until she became physically unable to attend.She is survived by her two daughters, Beth Ross of Clovis, NM and Susan Langhorne of Denver, CO; Granddaughters, Terri Waldmann and husband Chris of Kiowa, CO, Laura Bowman of Houston, TX, Nancy Horvath and husband Mike of Dallas, TX, Wendy Langhorne of Houston, TX, Melinda Goodnight and husband Phil of Braggs, OK, and Jean Wilkerson of Dallas, TX; great grandchildren Adrienne Flohr, Justin Flohr, Sherri Valenzuela, Melissa Koob, Robert Williams, Connor Bowman, Keller Bowman, Amber Wilkerson, Zachery Wilkerson, Matthew Horvath, Emily Horvath, Eric Goodnight, and Patrick Goodnight; as well as seven great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Langhorne Sr.; her son, Robert A.
