Mary Barton, 83, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Dalhart, TexasServices were held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery.Officiating was Rusty Hancock, Pastor, Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Mary Garden Finley was born November 20, 1927 in Norfolk, VA to Fred and Mildred (Whitney) Finley. The third of eight children, she grew up in North Wilkesboro, NC, She graduated from High School in 1947.On July 29, 1962 she married Bobby Barton, Sr. in Hickory, NC. They lived in Hickory before moving to Oregon and in 1982 they moved to Amarillo, TX before coming to Dalhart in 2002. Mary enjoyed bingo and spending time with friends. Mary attended the Baptist Church and was a resident of Coon Memorial Home for many years.Survivors include her son Bobby Barton, JR. of Dalhart, TX and a daughter Vanessa and her husband Eugene Grace of Dalhart three sisters: Mildred Brooks of North Wilkesboro, NC., Linda Elledge of Boone, NC and June Cain of Colorado Springs, CO. as well as a brother Fred Finley Jr. of Erin, TN. Preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
