Marvin D. Pritchett, (70) born March 3, 1936 joined his Heavenly Father on August 25, 2006 in Dalhart, TX Donald Services were held at the Dalhart Senior Citizens Center on Wednesday, August 30, at 2:30 p.m. To the many friends of Marvin, wishing to pay respects, the family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that donations be directed to The Dalhart Senior Citizens Center at 610 Denrock, Dalhart TX 79022. Attention: Ms. Synthia Howell, Director. Officiating was Reverend Father Ken MacKenzie, Dalhart, TexasMarvin had been a resident of Coon Memorial Nursing Home for over two years. He started his life on March 3, 1936 in Mulhall, OK. He was the youngest of seven sons. Along with his parents, Kenneth S. and Pearl Pritchett, his brothers Paul, Doyle, Jack, Alvie, Irvin, and Johnny precede him in death. He graduated from Guthrie High School in 1954.His career spanned many areas and adventures from owning his own businesses, auto body repair, sales positions and teaching vocational school at the Moore-Norman Vocational Center, managing a sheltered workshop for mentally challenged adults and drug and alcohol counseling. He finished his degree in 1999 from Hillcrest Bible College in Drug &Alcohol Counseling. Marvins work in the sobriety field included programs in Norman, Ok., correctional facilities in Lexington, Oklahoma, Texas and also South Carolina. He touched the lives of many.Marvin is survived by his daughter, Marvela and son-in-law David Paschall and grandchildren Margaux and Dylan of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his son Daniel K. (Snuffy), and daughter-in-law, Mickie Pritchett. Their family includes Marvins other grandchildren, Lindi, Saige, Shane and Anna Casey, Russell and Shannan Lees of Dalhart. There are five great grandchildren, who all called him Grandpa.
