Martin Eloy Montes Muñoz, 29, of Dalhart, passed away on October 27, 2026, in Amarillo.
Martin was born on December 18, 1996, in Española, New Mexico, to Rigoberto Montes and Marisela Muñoz Dominguez. He met Danielle Nicole Williams in junior high when he moved to Dalhart at the age of 13, and they began dating at 14. They stayed by each other’s side through the years and married on March 6, 2022, in Dalhart. Their love and life together were the heart of Martin’s world. He did everything for his family. They were his everything.
A devoted husband and father, Martin worked hard to provide for his family. He was a loyal employee of Friona Industries for 12 years, where he worked as a yard maintenance manager. He took pride in his work, but his greatest happiness came from being with Danielle and their 3 children. They were his pride and joy.
Martin treasured the everyday moments with his family. He enjoyed watching movies, playing board games, especially chessand just living in the moment. Martin loved working on his red 1989 Chevy with his son, sharing his knowledge and making memories along the way. Every Sunday, he went fishing with his son and brothers. Those Sundays, like so many simple moments together, will remain precious to the people who loved him.
Martin was the kind of person who showed up when someone needed help. He worked hard, cared deeply, and gave generously of himself to his family, friends, coworkers, and community. His life was taken too soon while doing what came naturally to him: helping others.
Even in the midst of great loss, Martin’s generosity continued. He gave others the opportunity to keep living. His final act reflected the way he had lived: thinking of others and offering help whenever and however he could.
Martin had a big heart and many friends. His kindness made people feel they could count on him, and his absence will be felt by many.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Danielle Nicole Montes Muñoz; his children, Santos Adrian Montes Muñoz, Alonzo Eloy Montes Muñoz, and Evelyn Rose Montes Muñoz; his father, Rigoberto “Rigo” Montes; his brothers, Rigo Montes Muñoz, Javier Montes Muñoz, and Fabian Muñoz; his maternal grandparents, Martin and Blanca Muñoz; and many extended family members coworkers and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marisela Muñoz Dominguez; his uncle, Lazaro Muñoz; and his paternal grandparents, Eugenio Montes Hernandez and Elvira Gomez Montes.
Martin’s family welcomes friends to join them for a time of remembrance, fellowship, and support from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, at the funeral home.
The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday, November 6, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Dalhart. The Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m., with Father Anthony officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Javier Ruiz, Rigo Montes, RigoMontes Muñoz, Javier Montes Muñoz, Jhovani Campos, and Victor Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers will be Martin Muñoz and Fabian Muñoz.
A Memorial Fund directly benefiting his three children has been set up at First State Bank under Martin's Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are under the personal care of Dalhart Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
