Marsha Ann (Cunningham) Snead, 69, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 in Dalhart, Texas surrounded by her loved ones. Viewing was at Horizon Funeral home Monday, December 28, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service was held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at St. James Episcopal Church at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverend Philip Ray officiating with burial that followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Marsha Cunningham was born Saturday, November 3, 1951 to JaneAnn (Kraft) and John H. Cunningham Sr., MD in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated as Salutatorian from Dalhart High School in May of 1970. Marsha married Ray "Bud" Snead August 21, 1970 in Dalhart, Texas. Marsha has been a long-time member of St. James Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild, Vestry and Episcopal Church Women. She coached her daughters, granddaughters, and nieces over the years in youth basketball. Kept the official scorebook for countless high school basketball games for many years alongside her brother Bill. She also played "old lady" basketball until she was 41. She has traveled to support her children and grandchildren in many many many stockshows. She supported them all in any venture they took part in and hosted her family and friends in dinners and swim parties almost weekly. She was Memaw to so many, to all who entered her home. Marsha is survived by Ray A. "Bud" Snead, III, her daughters: Rebecca Reep and husband Cody, Rachel Hunter and husband Craig, Sarah Ralston and husband Wes, 10 grandchildren: Cooper, Allison, Riley, Randen, Jack, Bentley, Jagger, Parker, Payton and Preston all of Dalhart, Texas, mother-in-law; Mrs. Ray A. Snead, Jr., two brothers: Bill Cunningham and wife Marsha of Dalhart, Texas and Bobby Cunningham of Lubbock, Texas, her sisters-in-law: Judy Puckett and husband Bruce of Haughton, Louisiana, Deborah Zinnecker and husband Paul of Lubbock, Texas, Glenda Cunningham of Dalhart, Texas, VMFAKT Brunner and husband Robin of Midland, Texas, Suzy Murray and husband Scott of Amarillo, Texas, a brother-in-law, Will Snead and wife Valerie of Dallas, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Marsha is preceded in death by her sons: Ray A. "Toby" Snead, IV and Johnathan W. Snead, her parents; Dr. John H. Cunningham Sr. MD and JaneAnn Cunningham, father-in-law, Ray A. Snead, Jr. and brothers: John H. Cunningham Jr. MD and Richard K. Cunningham.
