Helen Marlene Steen, 68, passed peacefully in her home in Dalhart, Texas on Saturday, May 23, 2020. A Graveside Service was held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas. Clay Lobley officiated. Arrangements under Horizon Funeral Home. Marlene (Leake) Steen was born to Marjorie (Grimes) and W.S. Leake in Mount Pleasant, Texas on Sunday, October 7, 1951. She was raised in Irving, Texas. In 1992 she relocated her family to Texline, Texas. Where she eventually met and married Curtis Steen. Marlene was a hard worker and spent many years working in restaurants. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed catching up with many of them daily over her phone chats. In her down time, she thoroughly enjoyed her Lifetime movies. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed. Marlene is survived by her husband, Curtis Steen of Dalhart, TX, her children; Paul Cato and wife Wynter of Silverton, TX, Kevin Cato of Dalhart, TX, Jeremy Steen of Mesquite, NV, Josh Steen and wife Jennifer, Tony Cato and wife Erin, Jessica Lacrue and husband Tony all of Pampa, TX, Emily Cato of NY, Jason Steen and wife Abby of Williston, ND, 20 grandchildren, 3 great granddaughters, four siblings; Danny Leake, Michelle Henderson, David Caldera and Doris Cox all of the Dallas/Ft.
