Marjorie Rue Wharton Wells, 82, of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in Amarillo, TX. Memorial services were held at 2:00 pm on Saturday June 6, 2015 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, in Dalhart, TX with Pastor Bob Harris, officiating. Marjorie was born November 13, 1932, in Dalhart to Rue and Geraldine (Sewell) Wharton. She attended Dalhart Schools through the ninth grade. She graduated from the Southwestern Junior College (Boarding Academy) in Keene, TX and attended college there.Marjorie Wharton married Billy George Wells in 1952. They were blessed with four children, two boys and two girls. All four children are graduates of Dalhart High School. She owned a ranch in Hartley County where she pastured cattle and raised quarter horses. After selling the ranch they bought a home in Amarillo. They are members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Marjorie loved to travel. She and BG had gone on several cruises and enjoyed their many RV trips. She loved to fly, having her pilots license since 1966.Marjorie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Billy George of Amarillo; two sons, Billy Richard (Rick) Wells and his wife Charla of Weatherford, TX; Randy Lerue Wells and his wife Marti of Cisco, TX; two daughters, Rhonda Lynn Wells of Corinth, TX, Marjorie Richelle Wells Rigatti and her husband Vinnie of Denver, CO.; one sister, Donna Lynn Wharton Tunnell and her husband Norman of Fredrick, MD; five grandsons and one granddaughter.
