Marjorie Swope Ulrey, 84, died Sunday, June 01, 2014 in Amarillo, TX Graveside service were held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery Dalhart, TX. Under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas. Officiating was Rev. Steve Patterson, Pastor, Central united Methodist Church.Marjorie Swope was born January 15, 1930 in Annapolis, IL to Warren and Frances (McCrory) Swope. Graduated from Casey High School and worked for Pure Oil Company. On September 11, 1948 she married Graydon Ulrey in Casey, IL. She was very proud that her three sons who are ministers of the gospel and her daughter who serves as a nurse. She was a longtime member of Dalhart Central United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is preceded in death by: her parents and her husband, daughter-in-law Julie Ulrey, and a great great granddaughter Maddison Monroe.Survivors include one daughter Mary Ulrey of Amarillo, three sons Steve Ulrey of Stratford, TX, Bill and wife Janie of Springfield, CO, and Bob and wife Sally of Campo, CO - seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren,A sister: Juanita McNary of Marshall, IL, a sister in- law: Marjorie Ulrey of Centralia, IL, a step-brother: Clifford Shanks of Martinsville, IL, and many family who loved her .
