Marion Arthur (Artie) Stewart of Hurst, Texas died Saturday, May 31, 2008 in Fort, Worth, Texas. Memorial Services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Steve Patterson, Pastor - Central United Methodist Church.He was born January 11, 1935 in Clayton, New Mexico to John Delbert and Myrtle (Trimble) Stewart. He attended Perico, Texas School before going to school in Clayton, New Mexico. He graduated from Clayton High School in 1952. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a BS in education.Artie married Gayle Wisdom in Clayton, New Mexico on January 18, 1953. He began his football and basketball coaching career in Floyd, New Mexico. He coached in Springer, New Mexico, Grants, New Mexico, Sulphur, Oklahoma and Dalhart. He also farmed around the Dalhart area before starting his career as a golf pro. He is survived by his wife, Gayle of the home. He is also survived by two daughters Debbie Isom and husband Ron of Fort Worth, Texas and Kim Pack and husband Kenneth of Dalhart, and one son Butch Stewart and wife Marsha of Naples, Florida. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Kristopher Oldham of Hurst, Texas, Lysl Vermedahl and husband Nathan of Dalhart, Kory Oldham and fianc Mikenzie of Fort Worth, Texas, Tiffany Moore and husband Colby of Weatherford, Texas, and Jordan Stewart of Wheaton, Illinois. He also is survived by the love of his life, his four great grandchildren, Jack and Kathleen Vermedahl of Dalhart and Cade and Collin Moore of Weatherford, Texas. He is also survived by his mother, Myrtle Stewart of Dalhart and one brother John Dee Stewart and wife Lavon of Dalhart. He is also survived by very special nieces and nephews, as well as many other family members.
