Marion Ingram "HOOT" Moody died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in Dalhart, Texas. Graveside Services were held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2017 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Officiating was Rusty Hancock, Pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church arrangements under the care of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas. Marion Ingram Moody was born on August 2, 1940 to Benjamin & Alma (Blansit) Moody in Childress, Texas. At the age of six Hoots family moved to Dalhart from Childress and attended school in Dalhart. He later married Nancy Knapp and they raised 3 children together, while working for Transmix for 20 years. He also worked at the drive-in theater. After Nancy and he divorced he lived in Amarillo for many years before moving back to Dalhart and worked for Dalhart Concrete until he suffered a massive stroke in May of 1997. After the stroke he lived a good life under the loving care of his children. Hoot loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had a smile on his face. Hoot is survived by his 3 children- Troy Moody, Craig Moody and Charlene Moody all of Dalhart, TX. 2 grandchildren- Sheresha Moody of Clinton, OK, Shelby Moody of Dalhart, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. As well as 3 brothers- Ted, Ernie & Rick Moody and 1 sister- Ruby Helms all of Amarillo. Hoot is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Hattie Berg and 2 brothers- Tom & Roger Moody.
