Marilyn Kathryn Engler Reed, 73, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Dalhart, TX.A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 3900 Rowlett Rd, Rowlett, TX 75088.Marilyn Kathryn Engler was born January 22, 1939 In Miles City MT to Dan and Ruby (Preston) Engler. They Moved to Dalhart when she was five and Dan took a job with Ed Bishop. She grew up in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School. Marilyn married Carl Reed on May 16, 1959 and shortly after Carl was inducted into the Army at Fort Sill in Lawton, OK. After the service Carl worked for Mobil oil and they lived in Amarillo, San Antonio, Moore, Ok, Little Rock, AR and Dallas. They also lived in Dalhart where they owned their own Mobil station and had the Mobil bulk plant. Marilyn worked for JC Penney for many years. She loved to go travelling in their motorhome and doing crafts. Carl passed away in Dallas in April 2011.Marilyn is survived by: two sons: Danny Reed of Garland, TX, Brett Reed of Dallas, TX, brother, Dan and his wife Margaret Engler of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, sister, Judy and her husband Randy Bradford of Dalhart, TX, Sister-in-law Linda and her husband Ed Hoebing of Dallas, TX, Grandson, Daniel Reed of Dallas, TX several nieces and nephews
