Marie Lucero Shackelford died Friday, December 22, 2017 in Dalhart, Texas. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas. Marie R. Lucero was born December 19, 1939 in Dalhart, TX to Fred and Lilly Lucero. Raised in Channing and Dalhart, Marie was a wonderful mom, g-ma, and friend. She worked hard to provide a good life for her kids. She was funny, loving, ornery and the best friend you could ask for. Marie is survived by a daughter Ranne Cooley and Jeff Dickson of Dalhart, TX, brothers Jay Lucero of Dalhart, TX, Ernie Lucero of Channing, TX, Mack Lucero of Guymon, OK, and a sister Beatrice Lucero of Bardstown, KY, an ex son in law: Randy Cooley of Amarillo, TX as well as 2 granddaughters: Jadena Cooley of Dalhart, TX and Stevie Cooley of Amarillo, TX and 2 grandsons: Mikael Cooley of Dalhart, TX and Preston and his wife Sarah Cooley of Dalhart TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Cory Lucero and John Eric Shackelford and a granddaughter Paige Cooley, a brother Gilbert Lucero, a sister Gladys Gallegos and a brother in law Joseph Gallegos.
