Maria De Jesus Rodriguez left us suddenly, on Friday July 17, 2020 in Dalhart, Texas. Maria (a gift from God) was born on Christmas day Saturday, December 25th, 1943 to Cipriano Avalos and Bernarda Diaz in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. Maria and her husband Rodolfo came to the United States in 1975 in search of a better life and better opportunity for their then 6 children.(later would have 3 more) Maria spent her days and many sleepless nights behind her sewing machine while still tending to her kids and all her responsibilities of a homemaker. Speaking to her children, they can't recall going a day without having all their needs met. They might have not had the best of everything nor the best meals, but because of her love they didnt know the difference. Richard told me that when he lived in Las Vegas his parents would come to visit them, but if you wanted to spend anytime with them, you had to meet them at the casino because they would gamble for days at a time without even getting any sleep. Maria was a gamer, whether with handheld games, games on her 3 phones, ipad, board games, cards, dominoes, loteria, she was even an expert and could beat you in Super Mario bros in Nintendo. Maria loved life although life was very hard on her, and her biggest hope and aspiration was to see her children get along. Maria's fondest and greatest moments were being surrounded by her children, her many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Maria was best known by her friends and family for her smile, kindness, child-like personality, her love, but mostly her selflessness. Maria was very selfless and always put the interest of others before herself. Maria is survived by her children Veronica Gonzalez 51 and her husband Geronimo Gonzalez of Whittier California and their children Ruby, Brandy, Geronimo "Momo" Jr, and Jasmine. Her grandchildren from her son Rodolfo "Rudy" Rodriguez, Lil. Rudy, and Desiree. Araceli Padilla 49 her husband Eladio Padilla from Whittier California and their children Raymond, Moises, Monique, and Mathew. Guillermo Rodriguez 48 from Tijuana, Mexico and his 5 children Ailene, Alenna, Maya, Guillermo "Memito", and Izaiah. Her grandchildren from her daughter Maria Alejandra Mayorga, Mireya, Priscilla, Randy, Crystal, and Irene. Victor Daniel Rodriguez 44 from Tijuana Mexico and his 6 children Lil. Danny, Andrew, Teresa, Sammy, Jesus, Monica. Richard Rodriguez 43 and his wife Zoila Rodriguez from Dalhart Tx and 9 children Darlene, Kimberly, Albert, Angie, Lilly, Antonio, Moises, Anthony and Lil. Richard(not the singer) Alfred J Rodriguez 38 his wife Alejandra Rodriguez from Dalhart, TX and 5 children Angel, Jonathan, Anthony, Abryanna, and Alexah. Jeanette Rodriguez 33 her husband Gregorio Longoria from Las Vegas, NV and 3 children Aiyana, Greg Jr, and Lylah. Maria is also survived by her sister Maria Del Carmen Davalos from Jalapa VeraCruz, Mexico, brother Felix Avalos from Tijuana, Mexico, and brother Ramon Avalos from Whittier California. And her many many great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents Cirpiano Avalos, Bernarda Diaz, Her brother/sister Jose and Tomasita, her husband Rodolfo, son/daughter Rudy, and Alex, and her grandchildren Rocio, Kimberly and Izaiah.
