On September 17, 2024, Margaret Ann Killian Adamson passed away peacefully from this life to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Margaret Ann Killian Adamson was born in Paris, Texas on October 31, 1937, to Horace and Betty McClure Killian of Antlers, Oklahoma. She was graduated from Antlers High School in the Class of 1955 and went on to Southeast Oklahoma University earning her bachelor of science degree in Home Economics. Margaret met the love of her life, Robert, in 1959, while working as a Home Demonstration Agent in Greenville, Texas. They were married on July 18, 1959. They had two children: Keith and Kerry and raised them in Spearman and Dalhart, Texas.
Margaret was a dedicated mother and wife who spent the first several years of her married life raising a family. She began substitute teaching as her boys got older and began teaching full time around 1980. She was loved by her students and fellow teachers. Margaret and Robert were actively involved in Central Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing and participated in the choir and was a longtime member of the Friendship Class. Margaret and Robert enjoyed square dancing, travelling with friends, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and husband, she is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Keith and Olivia of San Antonio, and Kerry and Patty of Euless, Texas; grandchildren: Ryan (Megan) Adamson, Camille Adamson (Alex) Bragg, and Margaret; great-grandchildren: Madeline, Victoria, and Charlotte.
A celebration of Margaret's life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 21 at Central Methodist Church, 517 Rock Island Road, Dalhart with Pastor Ryan Strebeck officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Margaret will lie in state from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 pm Friday at Horizon Funeral Home, 701 Elm Avenue. Her family will receive friends at her residence, 1903 Peach Avenue from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Methodist Church, PO Box 160, Dalhart, Texas 79022; or to Brick Street Community Center, 610 Denrock Avenue, Dalhart, Texas 79022.
