Marcus L. Adair, 90, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Dalhart, TXServices were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Cathedral of The Hills, 1600 E. 15th, Edmond, OK with Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK. Marcus L. Adair was born August 19, 1918 in Boswell, OK to John and Bessie (Bozarth) Adair. Marcus graduated from Perryton High School and immediately began his Ministry. On July 29, 1939 he married Mary Howard in Booker, TX. Rev. Marcus Adairs Ministry spanned over 70 years and three continents. He built and served churches including Midway Country Church in Logan, OK, Follett Chapel at Follett, TX, Faith Community Church in Canyon, TX and Faith Bible Center in Canyon, TX. It was not unusual for Marcus to travel over 5000 miles in a week visiting folks in nursing homes, hospital and shut-ins. His desire to learn was exceeded only by his desire to serve. Dr. Marcus Adair began his education with a Bachelor of Science at WT in 1969, then a Masters of Education at Phillips University, Enid, OK in 1971, a Masters in Philosophy from Bethany Nazarene, Bethany, OK in 1975, a PHD in Theology from California Graduate School of Theology in 1983, and in 1984 a PHD in Philosophy from the University of Beverly Hills. Dr. Marcus L. Adair was a tireless servant of God and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.Mr. Adair is survived by one son, Duane and his wife Carrie of Edmond, OK; three daughters, Velora Cummings and her husband Glenn of Dalhart, TX; Ann Hayes and her husband Marvin of Edmond, OK; and Linda Peck of Edmond, OK; a half sister Marie of Florida, Eight grandchildren; Ginger Cox, Jill Ryan, Kori Grouse, Shelby Cummings, Coby Cummings, Tosh Hays, Ty Peck and Benji Peck. 9 Great-grandchildren: Addie and Emma Ryan, London and Max Bulgarelli, Landon, Levi and Lincoln Peck, Henry Peck and Tillie Grouse. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and close friends.Preceded in death by his wife Mary, his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
