Mandy Jean Collins lost her valiant battle to breast cancer on June 14th surrounded by family and friends in Dalhart, TX, at the age of 53. Mandy is the fiery redheaded daughter of Julius Weaver Cook, Sr. and Betty Jean Morris. Mandy was born in Amarillo, TX on July 23, 1967. Mandy was raised in Dalhart and attended Dalhart public schools. Mandy was a high energy and eclectic soul with an unwavering faith in God. She was known for her fiery temper and daily devotionals. Mandy was that one sister, that you always wanted in your corner. When speaking of her children and grandchildren she beamed with pride and would boast of their accomplishments. Mandy was the queen of reviving the broken, whether it be a piece of furniture or a stray animal. She loved turning old gems into new treasures and no animal would ever remain homeless. Mandy had a green thumb that was admired by all that knew her. There was not a plant that Mandy could not grow or simply bring back to life. She always loved working in the outdoors whether doing yard work or hauling logs. Mandys love for plants and beautiful flowers paled in comparison to her love for animals. Her fur babies, Arora and Alley will miss the love and affection from their "momma". You should never doubt that you and yours were covered in prayer daily by Mandy. She was praying for all. Mandy is preceded in death by her father; Julius Weaver Cook, Sr., and 3 brothers; William Parker, Julius Weaver Cook, Jr. and James Troy Cook. She is survived by her mother, Betty Jean Morris of Holly Creek, OK., 6 sisters; Kelli Mills of Tucson, AZ. Sarah and Bob Tidmore of Muskogee OK. Gay and husband Dean Graham of Dalhart, TX, Mary Cole of Dalhart, TX. Becky and husband Danny Claycomb of Clayton, NM, and Julia Bristow and Chad Haddock of Amarillo, TX, four children: Krystal Tolle and husband DJ of Buffalo, OK, Traci Cook of Norman, OK, Troy Collins of Lubbock, TX. and Aspen Claycomb of Dalhart, TX and five grandchildren: Mason, Mia, Makenna, Esperanza, and Christian.
