Makayla Ann Hernandez, 13 of Dalhart, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 o' clock in the morning on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Central United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Stueve officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Makayla was born on June 24, 2008 in Dalhart, TX. We knew Makayla was special since the day she was born; although we only had her with us for a short 13 years, she impacted us in unforgettable ways. She had one of the biggest hearts youd ever seen for being a teenager. Makayla loved; she loved making people feel better when they were down. She loved taking care of people, whether it was her own family, her friends at school or a couple of lost kids at McDonalds. She loved McDonalds. She loved helping her mom out with whatever she could. She loved making funny videos and being on TikTok. Makayla loved being her aunt Ambers number one supporter during her cancer scare. Above all, Makayla loved church; loved God; always waiting on the church bus and singing her heart out praising Him and worshipping Him. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Makayla was known by many people and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother; grandfather: R.F. Sledge; aunt: Diane Sledge; great grandparents: Floyd and Arlene Adams; and great uncle: Claude Adams. Makayla is survived by her mother: Misty Hernandez of Dalhart; her siblings: Elliza Hernandez, Brandon Jones, Taylen Hernandez and Angelo Flores; grandparents: Rose Beasley and Charles Arguello, Bobby Beasley, and Jose Hernandez; aunts: Amber Trejo and husband David of Dumas, Jennifer Hernandez of Dalhart, Rianna Rendon of Liberal, KS, Guadalupe Hernandez of Juarez, Mexico, Rebecca Arguello of Dallas and Makayla Kizziar of Spearman; uncles: Austin Beasley of Amarillo, and Anthony and C.J. Arguello both of Dallas; honorary uncle: Ty Aragon of Dalhart; godmother: Angela Romero; great aunts: Nellie Adams of Dalhart, Teresa Valdez and husband Bill of Dalhart, and Nina Adams of Amarillo; great uncles: Claude Adams and wife Connie of Dumas, and Charley Adams and wife Diane of Amarillo and numerous cousins.
