Lucille Gustin, 98, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Dalhart, Texas.Graveside Services were held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Memorial Park Cemetery Dalhart, TX - with Ron Hein services under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart, TX Lucille Dulaney was born in Dallam County to F. D. and Alice Richardson Dulaney on December 11, 1911, the only living child of thirteen children. Lucille spent most of her life in Hartley County on the home place west of Dalhart on CR28. When her family moved there, it was just a two room house, path, and a water tank full of bottles. Before she moved to the nursing home, the house was bigger, the path was grown over with grass and the water tank was full of water. She married the love of her life, Vernon Gustin, on September 26, 1931, in Boise City, Oklahoma. Lucille raised a garden and canned most of the vegetables. She also sewed and quilted. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church for over 80 years, helped organize the first Home Demonstration Club in Hartley County, Held every office in the club, worked with 4-H, held offices in three PTAs. served on the Fair Board and worked as a Pink Lady in the Coon Home Auxiliary for over ten years, and also worked at a bakery for several years. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Gustin, her parents, brothers and sisters, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter, and son-in-law, Rayford RoseLucille is survived by sons; Jim and his wife Karen Gustin of Dalhart, TX, Jerry and his wife Bertha Gustin of Graham, TX, Daughter: Norma Rose of Levelland, TX, Six grand children, seven great grandchildren, and one great, great grand child.
