Lloyd Williams, 95, died Wednesday, June 2 in Amarillo, TexasServices were held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas.Officiants were Rusty Hancock, PastorLincoln Street Baptist Church; Bob McAlister, Minister to Sr. Adults, First Baptist ChurchLloyd Williams was born Jan. 2, 1915 to Thorpe & Mary (Sergeant) Williams. At the age of twelve he ran away to be a hobo, his mother caught up with him and said she would just go with him. When Lloyd turned fourteen he succeeded and lived the hobo life for a year before returning home. Lloyd traded cars in Muleshoe, built dams & bomb shelters with the WPA construction crews, and worked in the 1st AEC Plant in Washington. He came to the Hartley/Dalhart area in 1943 to farm & ranch and was a crop duster for 15 years. Lloyd lived and ranched in Brazil for a number of years. While living in Brazil he helped build several missions. Lloyd was a member of the Lincoln Street Baptist Church for over fifty years. Lloyd always said he had two of the finest partners in business that God ever made, good Christian men, Leroy Hughes & Henry Dane.
