Lloyd Nelson "Bud" Franklin Graveside services for Bud will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 3:00 PM in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, TX. Officiating will be John Owens, bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dumas. He will be assisted by Pete Bohmert, Branch President of the Dalhart, TX branch. Bud was born on November 13, 1921 in Wilkins, OK. He retired from Nortex Feeders in Dalhart, TX. Bud died in Amarillo, TX on January 10, 2005. He was a long time resident of Dalhart. He married Lela Belle McKeon on January 11, 1942 in Dalhart. He served in the European Theatre during World War II with the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela, two grandsons, Jim Lloyd DeFries, and Brett Wade Deeter, one sister, Louise Smith, and one brother, Gale Franklin. He is survived by two daughters, Lee Ann Wisdom of Azle, TX, and Carol Lynn Deeter of Dumas, TX; five grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the VA Hospice of Amarillo, TX. The family will be residing at the home of Carol Deeter in Dumas.
