Leandro Gonzales, 74, of Dalhart, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 6, 2022. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Kurtis Abla officiating. Mr. Gonzales will lay in state from 8-10:45am on Saturday before the graveside at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home. Leandro was born January 22, 1948 in Rockspring, Texas to his parents, Leandro and Maria Gonzales. As a child, he enjoyed spending time with his father and uncles and they taught him how to shear sheep. Leandro was a hardworking man with lots of life experience. He worked at a feed mill, feeding cattle until his retirement. He was loved at his workplace and was known for his light-hearted personality and practical jokes, such as finding dead snakes to scare people with. In Leandros spare time he enjoyed being outside, building bird houses, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. Leandro was a provider and valued family above all else. He always generously gave anything he had with no expectation of repayment. He was funny, had a big heart, and was always willing to listen. Leandro will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Leandro is reunited in heaven with his loving wife, Rosa Gonzales; daughter, Adelydia Martinez; parents, Leandro Gonzales and Maria Franco Gonzales; and siblings, Belia Ruiz, and Sylvia Auguirre. Leandro is survived by his children, Martin Gonzales and wife, Melissa Gonzales; Raymond Gonzales; Junior Gonzales and wife, Maria Gonzales; Benjamin Gonzales; and Jerry Gonzales; as well as 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Lupe Martinez.
