Kirk Douglas Payne was born in Dalhart, Texas on August 4, 1963 to Donna Holland-Bryant and the late Ray Payne. He passed away on Monday March 7, 2016. Kirk graduated from Dalhart High School and later became a resident of Midland, Texas after marrying Sheila Payne on October 27, 1984. Kirk was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus at St Stephens Catholic Church in Midland. Kirk enjoyed riding bulls while growing up in Dalhart and later found passion in hunting, fishing, firearms, and football. Kirk is survived by his children, Joshua Payne, Jacob Payne, Jessica Payne, their mother Sheila Payne, and spouses Tony Davis and Emily Payne; grandchildren Parker Payne and Beckett Payne; mother Donna Bryant; grandmother Leona Holland; brothers Kit Payne and Coy Payne.Kirk was preceded in death by his sister Radona Payne; grandparents Jimmy Holland, Hugh Payne, and Pauline Payne.Graveside services were held Friday March 11, 2016 at Dalhart Memorial Park Cemetery at 302 Cherry Ave at 1:30 p.m. Flowers can be sent to the cemetery or a donation can be made in his memory to any addiction awareness organization of your choice or to the Midland Habitat of Humanity.
