Kenneth G. Boatman, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in Amarillo, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas. Kenneth was born Tuesday, August 15, 1939 in Healdsburg, CA to Edna (Davis) and Daniel Boatman. At the age of 17 his mother signed off on an early enlistment into the US Navy and he served his country for the next 4 years. Kenneth then went to work for the railroad for many years and retired from Union Pacific. He loved being outside golfing, fishing and camping with his grandkids. He also enjoyed keeping busy with his woodworking. Kenneth is survived by his wife Jan, his daughter Misty Griego (Louis) and honorary son Scot Leatherwood both of Amarillo, TX, 6 grandchildren: Ty Crutchfield, Ashley Van Zyl (Pieter), Cortney Fuller (Trenton), Byron Potter (Moriah), Amber Homfeld and Ashley McGuire (Ricky), 16 great grandchildren: Khodee, Kholten, Klaire, Sam, Callen, Bryson, Dathyn, Lucy, Ellie, Lincoln, Caleb, Noah, Katie, Sutton, William and Ryan, 3 sisters: Loralea Raybern, Maebelle Barrett and Jackie Grey. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, brother Shannon Boatman, sister in law Rosetta Boatman and 3 brothers in law: Sam Raybern, Jim Barrett and Marvin "Moe" Gray.
