Kay Clark, 76, of Dalhart, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. A graveside service will be at 1:00PM on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Kurtis Abla officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home.
Kay was born on May 3, 1945 to William and Evelyn (McCarty) Kvarnstrom in Bremerton, WA. She attended West High School and received her GED.
Kay lived in the community for 44 years and waitressed for many of those. She retired in 2011 and enjoyed reading a book a day; her favorite genres being mysteries and romance.
"Mother to many."
"Friend to all."
These phrases come to mind when thinking of Kay. She was one in a million and left whomever she was talking with feeling as if they were the only person on Earth. She gave undivided attention, care, and joy wherever she was and in everything she did. She may have been employed as a waitress, but that was just the segue to her real job, her true purpose - to fill in the gap for so many different people on many different levels. It came so easily for her that she never fully realized the importance of her friendship, guidance, and love. She may be gone now, but she has forever left behind an imprint on our lives and in our community.
She is preceded in death by her parents: William and Evelyn Kvarnstrom; one daughter: Mary Kelly; twin sister: Ann Bogue and husband Roy; and sister: Judy.
Kay is survived by one son: David Clark and wife Nancy Lovato of Houston; two grandchildren: Chasity and CJ and one great grandchild: Michael.
