Kathy Selby, 68, died Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Dalhart, Texas Funeral Services were held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church of Dalhart with Rusty Hancock, Pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery- arrangements - Horizon Funeral Home. Katherine Loften was born January 19, 1949 in Dalhart, TX to James and Lillian (Nicholson) Loften. Kathy grew up in Dalhart and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1967. Kathy started her family in Fayetteville, NC and returned to Dalhart in 1977. On April 6, 1985, she married Richard Selby. She had worked for First National Bank and WW irrigation before starting her career as a Deputy Clerk at the Dallam County Courthouse. Kathy was always active in the community and was the inspiration and motivation for all the volunteers she worked with, especially her untiring dedication to placing American Flags on Veterans Graves. Kathy will always be remembered as the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend! Survivors include her husband Dick Selby, daughters: Lori Schwab Burk and husband Matthew, of Hudson Oaks, TX, Pamela Schwab of Dalhart, TX and Dedra Selby Vess and her husband Harold "Doc" Vess of Dalhart, TX, a son: Jeff Selby of Austin, TX, 2 granddaughters: Randi Schwab of Dalhart, TX and Madison Schwab Burk of Hudson Oaks, TX, and many other inherited sons and daughters. Preceded in death by her parents, one son: Jimmy Selby and a great- granddaughter Hadley Rose.
