Karen Nesdahl Krause, born on July 19, 1940, in New Richland, MN, was the daughter of Simon and Lola Nesdahl. She married her loving husband, Orlo Krause, and together they recently celebrated their remarkable 65th anniversary. Their enduring marital milestone serves as a testament to the beauty of their lifelong commitment and the faith-based foundation in their lives.
In April of 1978, Karen and Orlo made Dalhart, TX their home, where Karen worked at Brenda's, the bookstore and fabric store. Karen embraced her role as a homemaker, dedicating herself to caring for her family with great love and devotion. Some of her diverse interests included sewing, reading, cooking, baking, and hosting gatherings at her home. As a woman of faith, Karen actively participated in her local church, People's Church, and cherished her relationship with Jesus.
Upon entering Coon Memorial nursing home in May 2017, Karen found comfort and a sense of belonging within its walls. There, she discovered a passion for coloring and puzzles, becoming affectionately known as "The Puzzle Lady." Some of her artwork remains on display at the nursing home, providing joy and admiration for all who visit.
An unexpected delight during her time at the nursing home was Karen's newfound passion for the greatest NFL team, America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys, -the greatest NFL team in her eyes.
