Justin Scott WilmerJanuary 24, 1989 June 23, 2012Justin Wilmer, 23, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012.A Memorial Service was held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 28, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas.Justin Scott Wilmer was born January 24, 1989 in Lodi, California to Brian and Connie (Greenstreet) Wilmer. Justin graduated from Dalhart High School in 2007 and was employed by Bueber Farms in Dalhart. Although not a Dalhart native, Justin made many friends and lived his short life with a passion and zeal that is the stuff of legends. He dearly loved his family and friends and was always there to help when needed. Justin loved working and playing outdoors and his hobbies included shooting, hunting, fishing, 4WD diesel pickups and shooting some more. His competitive shooting career started at 8 yrs of age. Justin won the Junior South Carolina Sporting Clays Championship two years in a row and competed at the National Sporting Clay Championship in San Antonio, Texas. Justin was also an accomplished pistol shooter in the United States Practical Shooting Association and has several Junior State Championships to his credit.Justin is survived by his parents Brian and Connie Wilmer of Dalhart, Texas, his sister Ashley Gayle Wilmer of Lubbock, Texas, his grandparents Gail Wilmer of Cypress, Texas and Gale and Joan Greenstreet of Lubbock, Texas, Uncles Mark Wilmer of Cypress, Texas, Craig Wilmer of Brentwood, Tennessee, Gary Greenstreet of Lubbock, Texas, Jody Taylor of Lubbock, Texas, Darroll Hardee of Cypress, TX . Aunts Lynn Wilmer-Hardee of Cypress, Texas, Carol Greenstreet-Taylor of Lubbock, Texas, Pam Wilmer of Cypress, Texas, Linda March-Greenstreet of Lubbock, Texas and Cousins Andy, Austin and Hunter Taylor, Corinne and Lauren Wilmer, Madison and Christin Hardee and Allison and Brittany Wilmer.Justin was preceded in death by his Grandfather Reginald Bradford Wilmer of Cypress, Texas.Memorials may be made to the Justin Wilmer Memorial Fund c/o Happy State Bank in Dalhart and will be donated to Youth Shooting Sports Programs at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico.
