Junior Van Beek, 75,passed peacefully in Coon Memorial Hospital surrounded by family on June, 15, 2018. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Central United Methodist Church - Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Dalhart, Texas, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX Junior Van Beek was born March 14, 1943 in Inwood, Iowa to Gerrit and Rolena (Schonaveld) Van Beek. Junior married Arlene Mae Van Veldhuizen on October 11, 1963 in Larchwood, Iowa. Junior started farming in Iowa in 1964 raising corn, soybeans, hogs and cattle. In 1977 he moved his family to Texas and started farming around the Hartley area. After his farming career he entered the trucking business which he and his son, Jake continued to the present time. He has always had a passion for livestock and owned cattle till his last day. He took on the challenges of life with a hard work ethic that he has instilled in his family. His devotion to faith and family gave him the strength to face his final challenge the same way and fought his illness tooth and nail till the bitter end. Junior is survived by his wife: Arlene Van Beek of Dalhart TX, Children: Scott Van Beek & wife Deana of Bushland, TX, Julie Van Beek of Amarillo, TX, Annetta Brown & husband Russell of Milliken, CO, Jon Van Beek & wife Gayle of Dalhart, TX, Jamie Van Beek & wife Lee Erin of Canyon, TX, Jake Van Beek & wife Jennifer of Dalhart, TX Grandchildren: Khara Skidgel, Kristin Yanke, Justin Brown and wife Alexandra, Kennedy Gill Van Beek, Zack Van Beek, Zeek Van Beek, Zane Van Beek, Zeb Van Beek, Nathan Van Beek, Payton Van Beek, Chisum Koehler, Cross Koehler.
