Juanita Peña, 72, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and all those whose lives she touched so deeply.
Services for Juanita will be held Monday June 1, 2026, at Our Lady of Loreto Church in Silverton, Texas with the Rosary at 1:00 PM, Mass will be held at 2:00 PM with the burial to follow at Gods Acre Cemetery in Silverton, Texas
Juanita was born on May 2, 1954, in Raymondville, Texas. She spent much of her life in Pampa, Texas, and also held deep roots in Silverton, Texas, where many cherished memories were made with family and friends.
Known for her warm heart, kind spirit, and gift for conversation, Juanita never met a stranger. She was talkative in the best way, always ready to share a story, offer encouragement, or make someone laugh. Her presence brought comfort and joy to those around her, and she was truly loved by many.
Juanita worked many years at Albertsons and United, where she built lasting friendships and became a familiar and welcoming face to coworkers and customers alike. She took pride in her work and carried herself with kindness and grace every day. Above all else, Juanita loved her family deeply. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love will continue to live on through the many lives she helped shape.
She is survived by her children: Joey Leal and his wife, Irene Leal, of Lubbock, Texas; Elvira Leal of Lubbock, Texas; Robert Leal and his wife, Monica Leal, of Wichita, Kansas; Johnny Leal and his wife, Angie Jones Leal, of Bossier City, Louisiana; Ana Rodriguez and her husband, Lionel Rodriguez, of Pampa, Texas; and Angelica Peña and her wife, Maria Rubiano, of Dallas, Texas.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Laura and her husband, Jonathon; Junior; Christian and his wife, Jasmine; Rudy; Elliot; Isaac; Damien; Landry; AB; Sierra and her husband, Jean; Alex; and Adryanna. She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: AJ, Nehemiah, Alithia, Ensley, Judah, and Aaliyah.
Juanita is also survived by her siblings, Manuel Cruz and his wife, Nancy Cruz; Sylvia Muñoz and her husband, Rudy Muñoz; Jessie Cruz and his wife, Mary Cruz; and Esbardo Cruz, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elvira Peña Cruz; her stepfather, Emilio Cruz Sr.; and her brother, Emilio Peña Cruz Jr.
Juanita’s love, warmth, and strength will never be forgotten. Though her family’s hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort knowing her legacy lives on in the laughter, love, and memories she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
