Juanell "Nell" White, 94 of Dalhart, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2:00PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Barry Walker officiating. Mrs. White will lay in state from 10-12:00PM on Tuesday morning. Arrangements are entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home Juanell "Nell" Purcell White was born Sunday, November 20, 1927 in Dalhart, TX to Ollie Mae (Wilson) and John Purcell. Nell married Fred White on June 30, 1946. She spent many years as a housewife raising her four children and cooking countless meals for cowboys and ranchhands out on the ranch. After Freds passing in 1976 she moved to town to start a new chapter. Nell worked for Dalhart H. S. from 1977 to 1997 as an Athletic Aide. She loved working with all of the coaching staff and DHS athletes. After retiring from DHS she kept busy helping out at Petals Flowers and gifts and at Everything Under the Sun. Nell was also active at Central United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for 20 years, she was also the PTA President at Kella Hill for many years and helped with the Home Demonstration Club. Nell enjoyed being with her family and friends and will always be remembered best for her amazing cooking skills. Nell is survived by two sons: Doug White and wife Linda and Royce White and wife Patty, a daughter, Kristi Frische and husband Junior, son-in-law, Larry Fisk all of Dalhart, TX, 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1.5 great great grandchildren and a sister, Joyce Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Nell is preceded in death by her husband Fred, daughter Shari Fisk, parents, John and Ollie Purcell, brother Jim Purcell and wife Carol and brother-in-law Ken Thompson.
