Josephine Ruth Mobbs, 88 died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 in Dumas, Texas. Josephine's Family received friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 20th, 2018, A Funeral Service was held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart. Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Officiant was Kurtis Abla - Arrangements, under the care of Horizon Funeral Home in Dalhart, Texas. Josephine Ruth Fisher was born October 30, 1929 in Wichita, KS to Henry and Ruby (Weidenbach) Fisher. Josephine was raised in Wichita and graduated from High School in 1947. In 1949 she moved to Lubbock where she met Robert Leon Mobbs. They were married on October 25, 1952 in Clovis, NM. They farmed in several towns in the Texas Panhandle before moving from Wildorado to Dalhart in 1969. Josephine retired from her career as a local caf cook in 1991. Her hobbies included crocheting, bingo, dominoes, and she excelled in making Christmas Candy. Survivors include her children David Mobbs and his wife Doris of Lowell, AR, Steve Mobbs and his wife Opal of Tye, TX, Marilyn Ellibee and her husband Mark of Dumas, TX, Beverly Scott of Aurora, CO, Susan Holcomb and her husband Vernon of Amarillo, TX, Margaret Robb of Idalou, TX, and brother James Fisher of Oklahoma City, OK., 21 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Josephine is preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, sons- Russell Leon Mobbs and Frank Mobbs, brothers: Richard Fisher and William Fisher, sisters: Kathryn Hawkins and Margaret Hommertzheim, a son-in- law Ted Robb, grandson David Stacy Mobbs and great grandson: Lloyd Sims.
