Jose Velasquez, 85, died Sunday, September 16th, 2007 in Stratford, TX. Memorial Services were at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at St. Anthonys Catholic Church, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX.Officiating was Father Scott Raef, Priest at St. Anthonys Catholic Church.Survivors are John & Bea Velasquez of Commerce City, CO and brothers and sister and nieces and nephews.Jose was born Jan 16, 1922 to Francisco and Genevieve (Padilla) Velasquez in Albert New Mexico. He was raised in New Mexico and attended schools there. Jose did ranch work until 1949 when he moved to Dalhart. He married Rafelita Martinez in 1962. Jose worked for the City of Dalhart for a number of years. He spent his last years at Coldwater Manor in Stratford, Texas.
